The purpose of this presentation is to identify and investigate the genre of three popular short films.
The examples that we chose for this evaluation have also been looked at from a different perspective in three of our six textual analyses:
The Gunfighter
2 + 2
The Black Hole
The three films can loosely be pigeonholed as postmodern, a style that we aim for in our own film.
The presentation starts by showing our reasearch into postmodernism.
The viewer is then presented with three short films that each have postmodern aspects to them which are further analysed in the presentation.
We then go on to go into more depth and look how different films connote different messages and create dfferent effects, partly through narrative conventions and partly through innovative, often postmodern ideas.
The presentation concludes with a quick summary of previous points as well as explaing how the information we obtained from this research will help us planning and making our own short film.
