A2 Short Film Analysis (In Game)

1. Shooting material appropriate

Including controlled use of camera 3/3
The use of camera movement was well executed and was appropriate to the film.
Attention to framing 3/3
The framing is meticulous and has been planned as well as thought out.
Variety of shot sizes 3/3
Variety of shots used. (Not an exhaustive list) There are point of view shots, over the shoulder, wide shots, medium shots, sideshots, high and low shots.
Close attention to mise en scene 3/3
Like the attention to framing the MIS is meticulous and a lot of thought and planning has gone into it. There are appropriate special effects and costumes, as well as background and proper use of green screen to create different environments.

2. Editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer
Making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions 4/4
There is a wide number of shots used, with excellent transitions
Making selective and appropriate use of captions 4/4
Appropriate captions were used throughout the film to connote different things.
Making selective and appropriate use of other effects 4/4
A number of effects were used. The use of green screen and adobe after effects is presents, and the choice was appropriate to the film itself.

3. Recording and editing sound with images appropriately 15/16
There are a wide number of sound effects and soundtracks used. Diagetic sounds from foley effects are present and the relevant music is used too.

Total marks: 39/40

Level 4:
The candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in the creative use of most of the following technical skills.

I find that a Level 4 rating is appropriate for this coursework as it meets the criteria listed above consistently and to a high standard.
